PAWTUCKET, R.I.- Olivia Mathieu, Ali McLoughlin, and Bailey Wilson were named for LEC awards following the conclusion of volleyball season it was announced today by the Little East Conference Central Office.
Keene State's senior Libero Olivia Mathieu (Derry, N.H.) picks up a major award after she wins the Defensive Player of the Year award after her outstanding season with the Owls volleyball team. Mathieu's productivity on the court was apparent, as she was able to come away with 659 digs, which is good for third all-time in a single season in KSC Volleyball's history. Mathieu put together a career high 30 digs in the opening tournament of the season against Montclair St. Olivia Mathieu continues the streak of now three straight years of where an Owl picked up this major award (Riley Bunker 2017, 2018). Along with Defensive Player of the Year, Matheiu was also named to First Team All-Conference at her Libero position. This is the first time Mathieu has picked up this award.
Joining Matheiu on the First Team All-Conference is Ali McLoughlin (Melbourne, FL.). The sophomore dominated this season, leading her team in kills with 342. McLoughlin set a new career high with 17 kills in two separate matches (Montclair St., Clark University). Setter Bailey Wilson (Moorpark, Calif.) has been awarded with Second Team All-Conference nominations. Wilson led her team in assists with 997. Wilson moves up to 8th all time in assists in a single season with her mark this season.
