Competition Continues For Swim and Dive at MIT Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--Madison Pechulis scored the highest finish of the day as the Keene State College swim and dive teams continued competition at the MIT Invitational at the Alumni Pool in the Wang Fitness Center on Saturday.

Women's Highlights

Madison Pechulis was fourth in the 100 breaststroke, clocking in at 1:07.13, 

Sophie Hayes was 12th in the finals of the 200 fly, in 2:13.60, and Katie Brandeberry was ninth in the 200 free in 1:57.60, as well as finishing 17th in the 50 free, where less than two seconds separated the top 30 places.  

Brandeberry, Hayes, Pechulis, and Samantha Dickinson made up the 400 medley relay that was 13th in 4:04.85.   Brianna Feldman was 16th on the 3-meter dive with a score of 164.25.

Men's Highlights

Quint Kimmel was 21st in the 200 freestyle, with a time of 1:51.94, while Eric King was 18th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.12.  

Zach Payne was 15th in the 100 backstroke in 55.52, and Tyler Young was 14th in the 400 IM in 4:26.16.  Young was also KSC's top finisher in the 200 fly in in 2:06.48.  Payne also notched a 21st place finish in the 50 free in 22.46.

Payne and King, along with Jacob Peters and Kyle Shadeck, comprised the 400 medley relay that was 12th in 3:38.48.  George Colarullo added a ninth place finish on the 1-meter diving board, scoring 221.70.
