KEENE, N.H. - Basketball has a home doubleheader and a conference bye, while both swimming and diving and track and field teams will hit the road to various locations this week - the final one before the spring semester begins.
Keene State will look to get on track when they host UMass-Dartmouth (8-7, 3-3 LEC) for a 4:00 p.m. start on Wednesday, January 15. It is the Owls' only game of the week, as Saturday is a Little East Conference bye. KSC sits in a tie for sixth (the final playoff spot) in the conference with the University of Southern Maine at 2-4, but did fall to the Huskies once already.
Swimming and Diving
It is a busy week for swimming and diving, as they have a pair of tri-meets on the schedule. The Owls first go to UMass-Dartmouth for a meet that also features Western Connecticut State University on Wednesday (January 15) at 5:30 p.m. before traveling to Wheaton College in Norton, Mass. (moved from the original location of Waltham, Mass. - Brandeis) to take on Brandeis University and Bridgewater State University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18.
The Owl men, who have won just twice in seven home outings, will attempt to begin to change that on Wednesday (January 15) when they also host the Corsairs (9-6, 4-2 LEC), who are 2-4 on the road. Tip-off is at 6:00 p.m. UMD has won back-to-back games (both at home) following four losses in the previous five games, including three in a row. Keene State, who is one of three teams at 4-2 in the league, has lost two straight.
Indoor Track and Field
After getting their season underway this past Friday at the Dartmouth Relays, both Keene State teams head to the Bates Invitational in Lewiston, Maine on Friday, January 17. Saturday (January 18) will see the Owls compete at both the Bates Invite and the Tufts Invitational in Medford, Mass.
