KEENE, N.H. - As the leaves continue to change color and the fall sports conference races heat up, you have two chances during the week to catch Keene State College home athletic events and four on Saturday.
The Owls stay in conference play this week with a pair of games. First, Fitchburg State University visits Owl Athletic Complex for a 6:30 p.m. game on Tuesday, October 15. KSC then heads to Gorham, Maine for a matchup with the University of Southern Maine on Saturday, October 19 at 3:00 p.m. Keene State is currently in second place in the conference standings at 7-1, trailing only Worcester State University (7-0). Western Connecticut is also 7-1, but the Owls hold the tiebreaker by virtue of an 8-1 head-to-head win.
Winners of two in a row, the KSC women's soccer team will look to keep it going with two more LEC contests this week. The Owls go to Plymouth State University for an afternoon game on Wednesday, October 16 (3:30 p.m.) before returning home to take on UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday (October 19) at 1:00 p.m. Keene State, who has blanked back-to-back opponents, currently sits in sixth place in the league with six points, but is only three points behind a log jam of three teams tied for third.
Volleyball looks to get back on track in a three-match week that includes two conference tilts. The Owls travel to Plymouth State for their first road game in two weeks on Wednesday, October 16 at 6:00 p.m. before returning to Spaulding Gymnasium on Saturday, October 19 for a tri-match with UMass-Dartmouth and Suffolk University that begins at 12:00 p.m. KSC is currently in a three-way tie for second in the Little East (3-1), a half game behind Eastern Connecticut, who is 4-1 and beat the Owls last Saturday.
The Keene State men's soccer team will also aim to get things pointed in the right direction after losing three games in a row. The Owls have a pair of games this week, first entertaining Plymouth State on Wednesday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. before a visit to UMass-Dartmouth awaits on Saturday (October 19) at 1:00 p.m. KSC has slipped into a fifth-place tie with the Corsairs in the LEC standings.
After strong showings at the KSC Invitational in their last time out, cross country is back in action when they head south to Springfield, Mass. for the Western New England Invitational on Saturday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m.
Swimming and Diving
After opening the season at Colby-Sawyer College this past Saturday, the Owls are home this week in their own pool for a tri-meet with St. Michael's College and Norwich University that is scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 19 at 1:00 p.m.
